Why choose a Personal Trainer?
For a lot of people an organized exercise programme is a great idea but often not an actuality. Working with me ensures you will have motivation, discipline, encouragement and a flexible and varied programme that continually adapts to your evolving needs.
How much does it cost?
My standard rate is £45 per hour, however there are discounts when you pay for multiple sessions up front and for group rates. I will run through this with you during our initial chat.
Isn't Personal Training just for the young & super-fit ?
On the contrary, personal training is for all ages and all fitness levels. It is about taking you from wherever you are now and increasing your levels of fitness and well-being at a pace that is right for you. Your own aims, goals and effort levels will determine the rate of your progress. Any pre-existing medical conditions will need to be discussed and in some cases I will need the all-clear from your GP to proceed with training.
Do you only train women?
No, I train anybody at any age, but teenagers need to be 16+.
Can I justify the expense?
It is of course a significant investment but when you consider the money spent on expensive wasted gym memberships, fads that come and go and you realise the overall life-changing benefits of staying fit, strong, flexible and physically confident into old age, can you really afford not to look after yourself?
How does it work?
Give me a call or drop me an email with your number and a convenient time to reach you and I will call you for an initial chat. We then arrange a consultation, which is absolutely free, where I will ask a lot of questions about your current state of fitness, general health and your aims & goals. We will discuss costs, terms and conditions and if you decide to proceed then we will arrange a time and place for your regular sessions. I will then devise a personalised programme for you and your path to fitness and well-being will have begun.
How many sessions will I have?
You won't expect to see any significant results until you've had approximately 10 sessions but clients usually feel the benefits of exercise immediately. Some clients train for years and it becomes a part of their weekly routine, others train for a specific reason; losing weight for a wedding or special holiday for example. Everybody's path is different.
How often will I train ?
Most clients train with me once or twice a week and at least once by themselves.
Does it hurt?
I will, of course, start at an appropriate level for you, however if you haven't exercised for a while you may experience muscle soreness known as DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) this is normal and nothing to worry about.
